James has been Kuro Consulting Services Managing Director since April 2019. Prior to this he spent time as an independent consultant for a year after leaving his role as Marathon Oil Regional Vice President in Equatorial Guinea.
James previously had a 20-year career with Wood where he served in several senior leadership roles including President of the Asset Solutions business unit for the Europe business and managing director for Wood Group PSN’s UK and Africa business.
With more than 30 years’ industry experience, he has spent the past 18 years in a variety of senior leadership, operations management and contracts management roles within the Africa region as well as in Europe, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Brunei and the Philippines.
In addition, James is also a GlobalScot, board member for The Scottish Africa Business Association (SABA) and is a founding partner of Leadership Development Specialists - Actif4.
Joni has over 15 years’ experience in business and strategy development and possesses a strong background in collaborating with key stakeholders to identify and execute business growth, cost reduction and revenue generating opportunities in line with the objectives of globally operating organisations.
Joni also has a detailed knowledge of government relations having worked for the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, SDI , SQA and global organisations both in the UK and internationally, and has delivered key projects for these organisations including developing and delivering Ministerial briefings, the development of industry strategies and the creation of key stakeholder groups.
With experience of working for a major oil & gas service company Joni has in-depth knowledge of setting up BD process and systems including creating the governance structures that allow for control and management reporting. She is a strategically minded and customer focused professional, specialising in relationship management and market analysis, combined with a proven track record in successful project delivery and is passionate about competency assurance.
Marketing & Communications Director
Chris has over 12 years’ experience in Marketing, PR and Communications working across a wide spectrum of private, public, third and charity sector organisations including The Wise Group, The Salvation Army and SQA. Creative, strategic and customer-centric in his approach, Chris has a proven track record in building brand value and delivering key projects across multiple product and service sectors in Scotland, the UK and International markets.
Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience across all aspects of marketing and communications including; Research & Insight, Data & Analytics, Strategy & Proposition Development, Brand Marketing, Campaign Development & Delivery, Web Design & Build, Social, Content, Media Relations & PR, Events and Measurement & Evaluation.
Chris has built up significant multinational experience developing brands, markets and delivering consumer & business focused campaigns including launching new products and services in international markets, developing and delivering industry & country marketing strategies and implementing tactics to build market share. This experience enables him to truly understand our client's needs providing solutions that deliver insight and value.
In addition, Chris is also a board member for Scottish Sports Futures.
